SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:

The Southern Regional Education Board’s (SREB) Office of School Improvement is seeking a candidate for a grant funded hybrid Program Coordinator (SEED Grant) candidate that will coordinate duties, projects and activities related to grant funded activities.

 

The Program Coordinator is a full-time position which is currently funded through September 2025. Continuation of this position is contingent upon acquisition of funding through grants or other external revenue sources.

 

What will the Program Coordinator (SEED Grant) do?


 

  • Tracks developments in state- and national-level policy related to the program.

  • Manages relationships with program members, partners, participants, and state agencies.

  • Compiles and analyzes data for reporting, including charts and tables for the annual reports.

  • Collaborates with program staff and partners to coordinate related meetings, conferences, and workshops.  Works in collaboration with SREB Events Coordinator for external meetings or complex internal meetings.

  • Works with the manager and Communications staff in the in developing or maintaining websites and other e-communication strategies.

  • Provides technical assistance to program members and partners for the various program services.

  • Assists with writing and editing briefs, reports, newsletters, flyers, brochures and other written communication.

  • Responds to questions, both written and verbal, from program members and partners.

  • Coordinates processes, reports, and agreements for program area.

  • Maintains contacts database of individuals related to program.

  • Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a team.


 

What does it take to be a Program Coordinator (SEED Grant)?

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in public administration, education, or a related field; AND two (2) years of project management and administrative support experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

 

For this position, we are looking for someone who has knowledge of skill in:



  • Institutional accreditation, program approval and professional licensure processes.




  • Principles and practices of project management.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.

  • Record keeping principles and practices.

  • Principles and techniques of preparing and editing effective written informational or communications materials.




  • Organizing work, setting priorities, meeting critical deadlines, and following up assignments with a minimum of direction.

  • Managing multiple projects and priorities and meeting deadlines.

  • Preparing clear and concise newsletters, brochures, reports, correspondence and other written materials with accuracy.

  • Working without close supervision in standard work situations.

  • Using initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines.

  • Organizing own work, setting priorities and meeting critical deadlines.

  • Maintaining accurate records of work performed.




Preferred Knowledge and Skills


  • Experience in academics, government or non-profit.

  • Expertise in Excel.

  • Prior knowledge working with cross functional teams in project planning and providing administrative support for programming, marketing, and coordinating events and conferences.

  • Principles and practices of Grant Management.

  • Principles and practices of Database Management.


 

Additional Requirements:



  • This hybrid position is located at SREB headquarters, in midtown Atlanta.

  • Successful completion of a background investigation and drug test.

  • Occasional overnight travel required.
